Can you connect a wired mouse and keyboard into the USB ports?
There is 1 usb 2.0 and 1 usb 3.0 port, so yes you could connect a wired mouse and keyboard to the device, although I would connect a usb hub to at least 1 usb port to give you more ports to work with
Does it needs extra cables conecting to the monitor?
The mini pc stick comes with HDMI cable, no VGA cable included.If your monitor or TV has HDMI interface,you do not need to buy exra cable.But if your monitor and TV has only VGA interface,you should buy HDMI to VGA cable.
Can the video out support portrait view on monitors?
It should be able to support whatever resolution at or below 1920×1080 that a monitor would support. Probably it would have no problem with 1080×1920. It is a VERY slow stick computer with the slowest onboard storage I have ever seen, which might affect things if you need to run a lot of different files. If you are just streaming, it should work ok. Accessing things can take a second for anything to even start running. Also, the fan on this thing never stops spinning, so it will be audible within a certain radius if that is an issue.
Would this be good to load clients wedding video onto, then they simply plug in and play?
Yes. You can put the photos onto a USB 3.0 stick or a microSD card and use the USB 2.0 slot for the wireless keyboard and mouse. Use any photo software to display the photos. You can also add music to it and it will play on the TV or use the external audio jack to play sound on an external speaker. This way you can have complete control of the photos (no uploading to another device or the TV) and when you’re done for the night just take the mini PC stick with you.
