Beelink Gemini X45 Premium mini PC review
All of these Beelink mini PC models are fan cooled with 10W TDP Gemini Lake J CPU’s (The N CPU’s in laptops and tablets normally have a 6W TDP) like the Intel NUC’s. Come with M.2 SATA3 SSD and 2.5″ SATA3 slots. And even a mini PCIe slot for your own wireless card if you’re not happy with the Intel Wireless AC 3165. The DDR4 RAM is clocked at 2400 Mhz
Appearance and mount
The Beelink Gemini X45 Premium mini PC can be conveniently hung up on the monitor on standard VESA places (fastening in a set).
Ports and connectivity
In front side, you will find 2 USB 3.0 ports, 1 headphone mic jack and one power button. The back side has 1 LAN port, 2 HDMI ports, 1 DC in port and 1 security keyhole. From side view, you will find 1 TF card.
Faster Wi-Fi – something we all crave. Fortunately, it’s also something we can have on the Beelink Gemini X series, even on a budget. The 802.11 b/g/n/ac 1×1 MIMO and Bluetooth 4.0 combo module and Gigabie Ethernet solutions are all implemented to accomodate even the most demanding use cases – transferring files between devices in your home or office, streaming video from a network-attached drive to a television, and gaming with the lowest network latencies possible.
Performance
This PC compares favorably with heaps of similarthe boxes with which Ali is littered with, that it is possible to really work on it and he will not enrage you with his stupidity. Compared to the most popular N3450 of the previous generation, the performance here is about 40% higher.The result in the 7zip test is 9640, which is very good! For comparison, my Core i7 4702 issues 17260 MIPS
SSD test results
The younger model for $ 155 differs in e-mmc memory at a much lower speed (and 2 GB less RAM). In general, everything works very fast.
It also has active cooling. Fan idling does not work. During the test, it is almost not audible, only if you bring your ear to the box itself.
Disadvantages
1) The SSD is recognized by the system as “SSD 128” and most likely is Chinese nounayim. Without opening it is impossible to determine the manufacturer.
2) For some reason, when I insert something into the USB connector, sometimes the monitor goes off for half a second. Stuck it in the second HDMI, the result is the same. The reason for this figure out and failed to go. The problem with USB ports is solved by the scorpiosys method, you need to remove the checkbox to allow power saving on the USB controller. But still there are problems with power / static. The monitor blinks when you plug in the headphones or when you touch the PC with your hand.
