Pros
– The extendable wand does help reach high areas and the brushes that rotate remove dust and cobwebs with ease.
– As you can see from my photos after passing over my couch cushions twice the dog hair left from my rat terrier is almost entirely gone! It had the same powerful suction on the carpet as well.
– The filter in the vacuum is easily changeable and the vacuum comes with one inserted already and a secondary one for replacements which I appreciate.
– I also really like that it has the alternating suction technology that prevents it from increasing suction when somethings clogging the hose or somethings impeding the machine from picking up any other debris on the floor
The cons
– My biggest complaint is that it’s very awkward and heavy for a vacuum that’s advertised as being lightweight and easy to carry, there’s nothing lightweight or easy to carry about this vacuum.
– Since there’s nothing to lock it into place it just awkwardly drags around when you move through the room, you’re just lugging it around like a large dog at the vets and it makes the chore of vacuuming that much harder.
– The hose also gets in the way and bends on itself and prevents suction from the main vacuum chamber heavy and awkward to carry around the house so when you hear it sort of shift into high gear it’s almost always because the hose is being bent awkwardly.
– for me personally when it vacuumed on hardwood and tile it didn’t perform the same as it did when I was picking up dirt off of carpet or the couch. It left dirt behind so the floor type recognition wasn’t there.
-there’s no on/off switch on the handle so every time you want to turn it on you have to go back to the main chamber to do so and for this price point I don’t think adding a switch to the handle would’ve been too much to ask.
-Storage is a hot mess, the’re no way to condense the size and it takes a much room in your cleaning closet as two vacuums and the wand bit is consistently falling over or just in the way.

Fantastic suction power in such a small canister unit!
We have 2 cats and 1 dog – between the CatGenie pellets and dog hair I am vacuuming at least every other day. I usually use a Dyson V7 cordless on my area rugs as I don’t want to tote out the “big” vacuum and deal with carrying that up and down stairs. The Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Canister Vacuum is light enough to carry around (just over 20lbs) so it’s not going to be a chore getting the vacuum out anymore. Also the power cord is 30′ – that’s a very generous radius for cleaning and not having to unplug/replug when moving from room to room.
The motorized multi-surface cleaning head has 4 LED lights on it – bright enough to show you what you missed prior to this vacuum. The vacuum automatically adjusts suction power based on the type of flooring you are working with (listen carefully to the video and you’ll hear the motor power change when I go from tile to rug). This really helps when you are trying to vacuum pellets/cat litter so that it doesn’t fly all over the place.
There are only 2 negatives that I can think of for this unit – there is no power on/off switch on the handle, you must do that from the main canister (there is an on/off for the motorized cleaning head on the handle). Also, the cleaning wand/head won’t stand up on it’s own very well – it does not “lock” when placed in an upright position. This could be a good thing for some people as you can just lower the extension wand without having to release/unlock it when you are in a hurry. At this price point I expected a smaller motorized stairs/upholstery head to be included too – it is not. That’s a shame because there is just as much dog hair on my couch as there is on my carpet.
Overall I really like the Bissell canister vacuum – it’s light weight, easy to move around and pretty powerful for its size!
