Cosori stainless steel 5.8-quart air fryer CP258-AF customer review
Much bigger than my now old air fryer
This air fryer is bigger and heats up better than my last one. Plus it allows more things to be put in the basket, which cook pretty evenly. One of the troubles that I have had with some of the air fryers is that they only do the outside of a basket of fries, or a single layer. This one works better than the old one, and honestly better than my NINJA, on french fries anyway. Probably half of the stuff we use it for are fresh fries. The other half is vegetables. Potatoes are a vegetable. I can also trust that all of the veggies will end up cooked, not the ones on the bottom and top.
I also like the user friendly aspect of this one. It is very easy to select settings and times and temps.
Big and powerful
OK, I have to admit that before I started looking for one, I didn’t understand what an “air fryer” was. For anyone else wondering, an air fryer is a convection oven with a basket. You put spices and a tablespoon or two of oil on your food before it goes in, put your food in the basket, and it gives your food a “sort of fried” exterior. Any left over oil or rendered fat falls through a grate and ends up in the bottom of the basket.
If that’s what you’re looking for, this is huge, but good, and I’m not sure I’d want one much smaller. We made steaks and eggplant last night, and both came out quick, juicy and flavorful.
This unit has a ton of features – a bunch of presets, a skewer holder, etc. The baskets are non-stick and dishwasher safe, and it really seems to work well. If you have the space and are interested, I’d recommend it strongly.
