Design
This robot vacuum has an impressive 4.4 out of 5 stars on Amazon, and with good reason. It offers the “strongest ever suction power (2000Pa Max)” of any Eufy model, yet it’s super slim and quiet. It works on everything from hard floors to medium-pile carpets, and at just 2.85 inches tall, it can easily fit under most furniture. It’s Wi-Fi-connected, so you can start up a cleaning job from the EufyHome app wherever you are, and it plays nice with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for voice control. The top is made of tempered glass; a subtle bronze design runs across the surface and adds a pop of color to the otherwise all-black frame.
Brush and sensors
The front bumper contains the vacuum’s infrared sensors. On the oppostie end you’ll find the 0.6-liter dustbin and release button. The bottom houses the two main treads, a swivel wheel, the main roller brush, dual spin brushes, a brush guard, charging contacts, anti-drop and hall sensors, the main power switch, and the battery compartment.
Responsive buttons
The start/stop button on the top of the vacuum blinks orange when charging, glows solid blue when charged, and solid orange when the battery is low. If there’s an error or the vacuum is stuck, it flashes red. Above this button, the Wi-Fi status light slowly flashes blue when it’s waiting for a connection, rapidly flashes blue when it’s connecting to your router, and glows solid blue when it’s connected.
Remote control
The eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 30c max wi-fi super-thin 2000pa comes with a charging base and a remote control. You can use the remote to send the vacuum back to the charging base, adjust suction power, start or stop cleaning, control navigation, and start the different cleaning modes. The box also includes two AAA batteries for the remote, a power adapter for the charging base, two extra side brushes, cable ties, adhesive tape, an extra filter, an extra foam filter, and two rolls of boundary strips that each measure 6.6 feet long.
How to operate eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 30C Max?
Since the RoboVac 30C Max comes with a remote, the app isn’t required to control it, but it does provide access to features like scheduling and voice control. To start, download the EufyHome app (available for Android and iOS) and turn on the main power switch on the bottom of the vacuum. In the app, create a user account and tap the plus sign in the top right corner to add the RoboVac to your profile. Then, follow the instructions to connect the vacuum to your home Wi-Fi network.
Battery life
The vacuum’s battery life (in percentage) and status (charging, cleaning, standby) is at the top of the app’s home screen. The start/stop button along with a directional pad for steering are in the center. Though convenient, the app controls don’t navigate the vacuum as smoothly as the physical remote control does. In testing, the 30C moved much fluidly when controlled with the remote as opposed to the phone.
Cleaning modes
Tap the Mode button for different cleaning modes including Auto, Spot, Edge, and Quick. Under Auto and Quick, you can also switch between different suction strengths such as Standard, Max, and BoostIQ. With BoostIQ turned on, the vacuum automatically increases suction on thicker carpets or when it senses a mess is tougher to clean than usual.
The Schedule button allows you to program your vacuum to automatically clean on a specific day and time, but only once per day. The Home button sends the vacuum back to the charging dock, and the Find button triggers a beeping noise to help you find where the vacuum is in the house.
While the app is easy to use, notifications are sometimes confusing and inconsistent. Regardless of where and how the vacuum got stuck in testing, I always received the same notification that combined a variety of alerts in one: its drop sensors were dirty and it was hanging over a ledge or trapped. Sometimes, I didn’t receive any notifications at all and only realized it was stuck because it started to beep.
As mentioned, the RoboVac 30C Max is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice commands . After connecting it to your assistant of choice, you can use your voice to start or stop the vacuum, send it back to the dock, and more.

The RoboVac 30C does well maneuvering around and underneath furniture. In testing, it moved swiftly around chairs, tables, and desks. Thanks to the vacuum’s low height, it managed to suck up dust bunnies underneath air vents as well. Using the boundary strips, I made sure to cordon off any areas with computer wires and chargers that couldn’t be moved off the floor. Each time the 30C got to a marked spot, it immediately recognized it as a no-go zone and turned back around to clean another area.
The 30C Max has strong suction, picking up dirt and hair with ease on both tile and carpet. It even sucked up a few staples without issue. While Standard mode works well on hardwood and tiles, I recommend using BoostIQ if the majority of your flooring is carpet. The 30C Max is very quiet in all three modes; it’s tough to hear it working unless it’s right by you.
I tested how well it sucks up different materials on carpet and wood, using Standard suction power. With larger items like Cap’n Crunch cereal, it inhaled most of the mess but left behind one or two pieces on both the carpet and tile. Cat litter and sand required a few passes to clean up completely on carpet, and left behind some debris. It did better on tile, sucking up both materials completely. Unfortunately, the dual brushes did spread the cat litter all over the tile and created an even bigger mess.
The 30CMax lasted about 90 minutes in testing before it reached low battery (BoostIQ mode reduced this to about 50 minutes). In comparison, the N79S lasted a little longer, at around 100 minutes.
Which one is better among eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 30 series?
Suction Power

At first glance, the 30C and 30C appear identical in shape and in specs. However, the one thing that sets them apart is how much suction pressure they deliver. The 30C is rated at 1,500 Pascals of power, making it a medium-duty robot vacuum cleaner that can pick most small-sized debris from medium-pile carpeting.
30C Max
The 30C Max takes it a step further by increasing its suction power by 500 Pascals. With one-third more suction power, there’s almost nothing that the 30C Max won’t be able to lift from your floors and carpets in a single pass.
Noise Levels

Despite their awesome cleaning power, these RoboVac models are pretty quiet. This has a lot to do with the brushless motors installed in each of these robots; with brushless, they don’t need to work nearly as hard to provide the same amount of power as their brushed models.
Plus, they dissipate heat a lot quicker, which in turn prevents breakdown due to heat damage. On their lowest suction setting, the 30C and 30C Max produce roughly only 55 decibels of noise. You’ll still be able to hear them rolling around, but they shouldn’t scare the bejesus out of you at nighttime when if they start up.
2nd Generation BoostIQ Technology

One of the most notable features that come in both of these robots is 2nd Generation BoostIQ Technology. These two robots are equipped with the technology to automatically adjust its suction pressure based on what surface it’s currently treading on. When trekking on long carpet fibers, the 30C and 30C Max will switch to high-power mode to dislodge and remove most embedded crumbs and particles with ease. Of course, the 30C Max’s enhanced suction power will work a lot better than the original 30C on every floor type.
Convenient Controls

There are three ways users can send instructions to the 30C and 30C Max. The first of which is by using the infrared remote control included in the box (AAA batteries included, thankfully). The second method of controlling these robots is with the help of Alexa or Assistant.
If your home is equipped with Amazon Echo or Google Home, then you simply need to shout orders at your virtual assistant and – voila! – your robot can start, stop, and charge on your command. The third and final way to control the 30C and 30C Max is by downloading the EufyHome smartphone app which we’ll talk about next.

When these robots connect to your home’s Wi-Fi router, you can send basic commands through the EufyHome downloadable smartphone app. This app isn’t as advanced as others – your only options are to tell the robot to stop, start, and charge. You can also set up different cleaning schedules so the 30C and 30C Max will work without needing direct instructions.
Essentially, this app covers just the basics (no selective room cleaning, no real-time reports, no setting up digital no-go barriers). If you ever lose track of the robot, you can tap the Find My Robot button on the app.
Boundary Strips

Even though you don’t have the option to create no-go zones for these robot vacs via the smartphone app, you can still define boundaries where they cannot pass. Upon purchasing either of these robots, you should find more than 13 feet of boundary strips that you can attach to your floor.
When these robots get close to these strips, they’ll tuck tail and head in another direction. So far, we don’t have any reason to complain about these boundary strips, though you should keep them as free of obstructions as possible.
Auto-Recharge

Last but not least is the auto-recharge feature in both of these RoboVac models. With auto-charge, you simply need to sit back and watch as the robot, upon sensing low battery power, will make a beeline directly for its charging port.
There, it’ll rest for roughly 5 hours until its battery reaches maximum capacity, in which it’ll deliver about 100 minutes of continuous cleaning on its lowest power setting.
Sadly, neither of these robots have an auto-resume function, meaning that after every recharging session, the robot needs to be re-instructed to start its cleaning cycle, and it’ll start from the very beginning rather than picking up where it left off.
