Multi-Surface Vacuum Head

You wouldn’t be wrong in thinking that most stick vacuum cleaners are made for bare floors and soft-fiber upholstery, but the NEC180 is vastly different from most. The extraordinary vacuum head coupled with the beefy motor allows you to clean bare floors, low-pile carpets, auto interior, and practically any above-ground surface you can imagine.

LED Headlights

If there were one thing I would change, it’s the LEDs. Sure, they work well at illuminating dark spaces, but they’re not bright enough to shine on hidden dust piles on carpets and bare floors.

This is by no means a deal-breaker, but if you have trouble finding where all the dust bunnies are on your carpets, you’ll definitely need a brighter light than what the NEC180 is packing.

Cyclonic Filtration System

Cyclonic filtration separates fine debris from coarser ones, preventing the filter from becoming clogged and reducing suction power. Additionally, the separator makes cleanup a breeze.

Eureka NEC180 RapidClean

All of the finer particles settle at the bottom of the dustbin and will fall out with a few good whacks. As for the larger pieces, they’ll drop out of the separator easily.

9-1/2-inch Cleaning Path

To make vacuuming easier and quicker, the NEC180’s vacuum head is 9-1/2 inches wide, giving the tool the ability to clear a wide path in a single pass. Ultimately, this means you’ll spend less time cleaning and more time doing what you love (dirtying your floors).

Granted, this isn’t the widest vacuum head available, but it doesn’t inhibit movement around furniture as 10- or 11-inch vacuum heads tend to do.

3.2-pound Build

Spot-cleaning high-up spaces is possible thanks to the super-lightweight design. The NEC180 on an empty dustbin weighs just 3.2 pounds, so lifting the unit up to vacuum drapes, to get in between car seat cushions, and to clean bookshelves won’t wear your arm and shoulder muscles out.

Convertible with 2 Cleaning Tools

If you’d like, you can convert the stick NEC180 into a handheld unit simply by removing the shaft. All that’s left to do is choose which cleaning tool – either the crevice tool or the versatile 2-in-1 dusting brush – to attach.

MAX and Standard Cleaning Modes

The NEC180 has two cleaning modes – MAX and Standard – that you can choose between when cleaning certain floor types. For carpets and upholstery, switch to MAX mode to dislodge and suction up every piece of embedded debris and fallen pet fur.

Standard cleaning mode is ideal for bare floors that don’t require powerful suction to clean.

40-minute Runtime per Charge

One of the key features of the NEC180 is its heavy-duty battery. On a full charge, you can expect up to 40 minutes of continuous cleaning on Standard Cleaning mode, allowing you to clean most, if not all, of a room or carpet.

Charging this unit is done by placing it on wall mounted charging dock and requires roughly six hours to reach maximum capacity. Sure, the runtime-to-charging-time ratio is horrible, but that’s just the nature of stick vacs.

Easy Maneuverability

Like most stick vacs, the NEC180 is easy to navigate on floors and vertical surfaces, but the magic behind this stick vac’s maneuverability is its swivel neck.

Eureka NEC180 RapidClean Review

Not only does it allow you to clean corners and move effortlessly between furniture legs, but the neck also allows you to bring the handle all the way down to the floor without lifting the vacuum head up. Say goodbye to dust bunnies lurking beneath couches and bed frames!

Resting Notch

The NEC180, like most stick vacuum cleaners, cannot stand on its own. You’d most likely have to mount it onto the charging dock to get some rest while cleaning. The NEC180, however, has a groove that allows it to lean on vertical surfaces without the vacuum head rolling forward.

Eureka RapidClean Pro lightweight cordless vacuum cleaner performance reviews

Eureka NEC180 RapidClean Pro was performance tested on medium carpet and hardwood floors
Eureka recommends the NEC180 RapidClean Pro for use on all hard floors and low pile carpet or area rugs

For my review of the Eureka NEC180 RapidClean Pro’s cleaning performance I tested it on both *medium carpet and hardwood flooring.

As I mentioned above I used test media that consisted of rice, coffee grounds, oatmeal, dry pet food, and clipped hair with the machine set on LOW Suction. I weighed each sample before applying to the floor. After testing I weighed the content of the dust cup to determine the actual percentage.

Hard Floors

100% of the test media was removed from hardwood floors. The dry pet food presented no problem for the Eureka NEC180. Some of the dry pet food was plowed along the floor near the outer edges of the floor nozzle. Successive passes removed it without kicking it across the floor.

Carpet

The Eureka NEC180 RapidClean Pro Cordless removed 100% of all the test media with several passes. Although the NEC180 RapidClean performs well on medium pile area rugs, I do NOT recommend it for large areas with med. pile carpet.

Edges

Because of the way the floor nozzle is designed, the NEC180 RapidClean can clean within 3/4″ of walls or baseboards which is considered poor. Although, using the crevice tool or combo dusting brush those edges can be easily cleaned.

Eureka RapidClean Pro lightweight cordless vacuum cleaner customer reviews

Great for dog hair on hard floors!!

If y’all ever need a good hard floor vac this is it. It is awesome. Really powerful suction and will do a higher speed for area rugs. It also detaches for a hand vac and has several attachments. Eureka Rapid Clean Pro. I absolutely love it. It gets all the dog hair off my hardwoods, area rugs, and tile. It is cordless and lasts 30-40 minutes. Takes about 6 hours to fully charge.

I have a German Shepherd/Husky mix who sheds like crazy and if you sweep, it just flies into the air. This is so easy. And it lays completely flat to get under stuff. Much better than my big vacuum cleaner. I’m only using that on carpet now. It doesn’t have a big capacity but that just makes it lighter. I emptied it 4-5 times for the upstairs. Love it!!!

Only minor issue is that it doesn’t stand up on its own because it’s lightweight with the canister on front. It does have a design so you can hook onto a counter, but I just lean it on the sink to charge (as in picture). The benefits far outweigh that minor issue.

What is the difference between carpet and hard modes?

The difference between the carpet and hard floor is that that suction is not that strong on carpet mode since it would be easier to push and pull. If the surface is delicate and requires extra protection, we do have options as model NEC122 and NEC124A, which come with plush brushes. Feel free to check out our store page for more info!

How easy is it to empty the dust bin and clean?

For you to clean the dust cup of the Eureka NEC180 RapidClean Pro Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, you will click the dust cup release button located on the front of the handle just above the dust cup and pull dust cup out. After, you will press the lever to release the bottom lid of the dust cup to empty the debris. To place the dust cup back, angle it forward so the lower hook catches in the slot and then gently push it back towards the wand until you hear a click indicating it is locked in place.

How to recharge RapidClean Pro vacuum if charger is mounted on wall?

The Eureka NEC180 RapidClean Pro vacuum can be detached from the handle and placed on a counter separately, have the charger plugged to an outlet close to the unit to charge it. Another option would be to use the Easy Rest nook to safely prop the vacuum up on countertops and furniture close to an outlet for charging,

What is the warranty policy of the manufacturer?

Eureka subjects to the terms and conditions herein, warrants this vacuum cleaner to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a term of 1.5 years from the date of original purchase when used in accordance with the Eureka operating and maintenance instructions and under normal household usage.
