The AORUS 7 is equipped with a large 17″ 144 Hz display and weighs 5.5 lb.
Hardware – Gigabyte Aorus 7 na
The system is powered by a 9th Gen Coffee Lake 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7-9750H six-core processor. It also has 8GB of 2666 MHz DDR4 RAM, a 1TB 7200 rpm hard drive, a 256GB PCle NVMe solid-state drive, Killer LAN Ethernet, Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), and Bluetooth 5.0+ LE. Additionally, this laptop is equipped with one USB 2.0 Type-A port, one USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A port, one USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A port, one USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port, and one SD card reader. Light weight, beautiful display, super smooth
Was given a chance to review this laptop while at a recent PAX event (along with a few other laptops they offer).
They had some games pre-loaded to show off it’s gaming power as well as display which is 144hz.
I’m the in the market for a laptop, not just for myself and my gaming, but also for my wife and her photography business. This laptop has a GTX 1650 in it which is more then enough for my wife and her editing. I did try some gaming on it as I wanted to test the 144hz display. The display was smooth and the color was spot on! The thin bezel of the display is nice and will make sure that my wife’s images are the center of attention when showing her clients.
The CPU and SSD will be more then enough for her editing applications (photoshop/lightroom) as well as light video editing that she does.
The weight of the laptop and battery are also a big deal for her as she already carries enough camera gear around that’s hefty. At just 5lbs this laptop shouldn’t be an issue, and with the battery, neither should her having to worry about finding a power outlet every 10 minutes.
This is one of three laptops from the Gigabyte/Aero/Aorus line that I’m looking at getting after getting some hands on time with them while checking them out for my wife and her business (and when I steal it from her for gaming when we’re not at home).
