These two love creations between Nestle Nespresso and Breville have some great similar features. Some of those characteristics are even the same.
- Strong 19 bar pump, that both models have, makes a perfect espresso.
- The choice between 8 different beverage managed with just one-touch button is something that puts them ahead of many other single serve coffee machines.
- The Nespresso capsule system will give you a perfect and flavorful espresso every time you wish for it. The capsule system has many different flavors for those with sensible taste receptors.
- The drip tray is removable and cleaning and maintaining isn’t something that will give you a headache. Drip tray can change its position in order to fit cups of different sizes.
- Both coffee maker models have the auto shut-off option after only 9 minutes of an inactive state.

- The used capsule drawer can accommodate from 8 to 12 capsules, depending on the capsule size.
Which one is better – Nespresso Creatista Plus Sage vs Breville Creatista?
Nestle Nespresso and Breville had created these two magnificent coffee machines using the coffee machine options they developed to the highest level. Nespresso gave their capsule system that makes coffee preparation easy and always fresh in flavor, and Breville gave their incredible milk frothing system. This way we have coffee and espresso makers that can fulfill our need for morning boost in just a few seconds.
Dimension
Creatista Plus is just a little bigger than the Nespresso Creatista if we look closely in their dimensions. This one inch of difference is hard to be noticed with bare eyesight, that is why we won’t take it as an advantage of Creatista Plus.

Dimensions | 31 x 14 x 41 cm | 12.5 x 7 x 12 inches |
Appearance
Although these coffee machines were created to look similar to each other, there are still some differences in their design. The coffee spout and the steam noosle are placed at the front side of both coffee machine models. The only difference is that the Nespresso Creatista has a machine body made in the combination of stainless steel and plastic in different colors, while Creatista Plus’s whole machine body is made in stainless steel.
Temperature settings
Creatista coffee machine has only 5 different temperature settings, while Creatista Plus has 11 different temperature settings that range from 55-76°C / 133-169°F. This gives you more options to customize your favorite morning beverage to suit your taste the best.
Heat-up time
This is another feature that makes the Plus model better than the Creatista coffee machine. The Nespresso Creatista heat-up time is 10 seconds, and although we will all agree that that is pretty fast, the Plus model heats-up in just 3 seconds making your hesitation for morning shock completely disappear.
Water tank capacity
The Creatista’s water tank is just 0.28 oz smaller than the 60oz water tank of Creatista Plus. Since they are different in this feature, we had to explain it out of the table. This difference is unimportant cos’ it basically can’t affect the performance of Creatista coffee machine.
Auto frothing
Creatista Plus is upgraded in this feature, too. Its 8 texture levels of frothing give you the possibility to brew your espresso, latte, macchiato, or lungo like a real barista. On the other hand, Nespresso Creatista has 4 texture levels and it is still much better coffee maker than other coffee and espresso machines. It is always better to have various choices, but if you are not that much complicated and demanding when it comes to the coffee or espresso, the Nespresso Creatista could fulfill all your desires.
Customer reviews – Nespresso Creatista Plus Sage vs Breville Creatista
Bloody brilliant!
I don’t normally wax lyrical about a product, I expect anything I buy to work as described. However I am more than pleased with this machine.
I have had three Nespresso machines so far. I started with the excellent Siemens TK70, which I only replaced because I wanted more flexibility with the types of coffee I could make with one button press. I then went to the disastrous De Longhi Lattissima Pro, which never produced three cups of coffee in a row with the same quantities of coffee and/or milk.
So it was with delight that I am now the owner of this Sage machine. It is consistent in quantity delivery and very flexible in what it can be programmed to do. I particularly like the ability to change the quantities and temperature of milk and quantity of coffee on the fly, without having to go into the settings to program it. So if I have a particularly strong coffee I can press the selection button and adjust the quantity of coffee upwards. The next time I make a coffee with a weaker blend I can quickly move it down again.
But most pleasing of all is that I have now been able to go back to frothing the milk myself. Years ago I had a good quality old-fashioned cappuccino machine that had a steam wand, and although it made perfect cappuccino, I became fed up with the cleaning effort after every use. It was for this reason that I went to Nespresso (even though the coffee really isn’t as good). But I missed the correctly frothed milk. In particular I found that both the Siemens and the De Longhi produced variable froth based on the age of the milk and sometimes the make. (Waitrose milk rarely frothed at all but M&S milk did … most of the time).
This thing froths the milk to your liking (you can adjust temperature and degree of frothing) and you can then pour your froth onto the coffee with as much or as little as you wish. And so far it has been consistently good.
The proof of this is that I am now drinking more coffee. I commend this machine most highly.
2-time Nespresso machine owner
I would’ve purchased this machine from Amazon had I not happened to pass by a Nespresso Boutique inside the local mall. In all honesty, I was reluctant to give them another try; I had purchased De’Longhi Nespresso® Lattissima machine back in 2012, a machine I ended up loathing. My concerns with the 2012 Lattissima purchase was that the milk temperature turned out lukewarm – every time. I explained to the Nespresso gentleman working that day that I probably should’ve returned that machine while it was still under warranty, but that life happened and it ended up being stored away, unused for x amount of years. Having read similar reviews (producing lukewarm lattes, at best) on that particular machine and feeling jipped outside of warranty, I went back to my usual at Starbucks and forgot about Nespresso’s existence (or tried to, as I had spent $500 on the Latissima at that time).
The gentleman explained the machine should have been fine, etc – but that if I was to give Nespresso another shot, he’d recommend the Creatista model, guaranteeing the milk/espresso/latte temperature would indeed be hot, and that one of the best features re: this machine was the easy cleanup (I had mentioned the Latissima was a pain to clean). The gentleman showed me how the Creatista works (display model in store), and brewed me an Arpeggio cappuccino at the highest temperature setting.
Not only was the temperature exactly how the Latissima should have been, but the texture of the milk from the wand– was perfect. Moreover, I was impressed all I’d need to do post-brewing was to wipe down the wand with a wet cloth/paper towel, as the wand purges water post-brewing to clean itself.
Upon asking what the real difference between the Creatista and the Creatista Plus was, the gentleman explained that there was no major difference, really, from his point of view: “Most people don’t know that although the Creatista Plus has more temperature settings– for example, the Creatista Plus has 11 temperature settings to choose from– both machines’ max temperature level is the same. Both machines go up to 19 pressure bars. The Creatista Plus’ temperature setting is in 2 degree increments, whereas the Creatista is in 6 degree increments.” As for the additional options in milk texture apparent in the Creatista Plus, the gentleman explained that they were too minor of a difference in his opinion to spend the extra $100+ for the Creatista Plus, although, the all stainless steel is aesthetically pleasing.
Having felt I had received an honest opinion on which model I should consider, and having had the chance to see the machine work (and test the taste of a cup of cappuccino) in store… I was convinced it was worth the right investment; ended up walking out of the store with the Creatista in Champagne that day.
It’s been about a month since my purchase. I haven’t had any problem with it thus far (may update my review should I encounter any problem down the road), and can honestly say I am 100% satisfied with this machine in every way, shape, and form. It brews the perfect ristrettos, espressos, lungos, flat whites, and the list goes on… every time. I haven’t stopped by a Starbucks on my way to work since having invested in this machine, and would recommend this to all espresso connoisseurs. Happy brewing!
