Pros & Cons – Oreck Elevate Conquer vacuum
PROS
Superior cleaning power – Gets carpets & floors dust-, dirt-, and pet-hair free in one pass.
Lightweight!!! So easy to take up/down stairs, and a breeze to use. The carry-handle helps with toting it too.
Steering – I was surprised to find how useful this feature is, and makes me wish all vacs had it.
Lights – Handier than you might think, the bright lights allow you to see dust & dirt in dim areas such as corners, closets, pantries, underneath tables or chairs, etc.
Bagged!! – Super-easy to change bags. And if you’re not easily cowed by Oreck’s warranty warning against using non-Oreck bags, you can get good-quality aftermarket brands here on Amazon that cost a fraction of the genuine Oreck ones.
Lengthy cord – 35′ cord lets me vacuum nearly my entire first floor from a single centrally-located outlet.
CONS
Lack of attachments means you will need a 2nd vac, a portable or hand-held model, to vacuum furniture, drapes, or to use in small or hard-to-reach places such as under low chairs, around bathroom fixtures, etc.
Cord is unusually heavy-gauge, and this weight/thickness combined with its 35′ length can sometimes make it a little tiresome to maneuver while using & to re-spool after use.
Upper “cord hook” on the handle is poorly designed. To enable its swivel function (to more easily release the spooled cord for use), it has to be loosened (unscrewed) so much that it then seems fragile, loose, and more subject to breakage. Mine hasn’t broken yet, but this particular design is befuddling.
Cord length – Ok perhaps this is just my OCD kicking in lol, but the cord needs to be either 3″ longer or 3″ shorter. At its current length, the plug ends up @ the very bottom curve of the loop when you re-spool the cord around the upper hook & lower carry-handle. So, it’s challenging to get the plug to snap onto the cord for storage. If the cord were slightly shorter or longer, the plug would end up along a straight length of the cord where it would be markedly easier to snap it onto the cord.

Oreck Elevate Conquer vacuum reviews
Dimension & weight
Oreck Elevate Conquer vacuums are designed with both commercial and residential uses in mind. Its dimension is 14 x 12 x 48 inches and weighs 16 pounds only. It comes with 35 ft cord. It has a convenient handle on the back, you can zip up and down stairs and from room to room. On the ground the Elevate swivels and twists around obstacles at the flick of the wrist, and pulls the whole vacuum along when it’s engaged. The front of the Elevate also has LED lights to help illuminate dirt on the floor and under beds.
Dirt cleaning
Elevate does pretty well for its size. It got about 38% of dirt on regular carpet in a single pass. Two or three passes over a single spot is normal for most people, so this Oreck passes muster. The percentages dropped when we switched to deep-pile carpet–around 14% per pass—but considering this vacuum is half the size of other uprights, it still impressed us.
HEPA filter functionality
The Oreck Elevate Conquer is also rated to filter out at least 99.97% of allergens at 0.3 microns in size. These organisms include dust mites, pet dander, and pollen which can quickly trigger asthma or allergic reactions. How do the do it?
Oreck Elevate Conquer comes with 5 different layers of filtration to guarantee that virtually no dirt or dust particles can pass through. The layers are really what makes this system so effective as they are designed to trap the different sized debris at different stages. The SaniSeal™ bag fully seals upon removal so nothing escapes out during the time when you are emptying the machine.

Light Weight and Slim
This Oreck Elevate Conquer is exactly what I needed! It is so lightweight and slim. It easily fits under most my furniture because of the slim base and swivel steering.
The two-speed fingertip control allows me to easily clean both carpet and hardwood. I can literally go from one floor to the other without stopping. I love this feature!
The 35-foot cord is a huge bonus as I can vacuum the entire house from one plug. The 5 Bright LED headlights provide enough visibility that no overhead lights are needed (at least during the day).
I am very pleased with the quality and cleaning power of this vacuum. I can tell I am going to get years of use from it! I highly recommend it for its versaility, cleaning power, and its size.
Like driving a Cadillac!
I purchased this vacuum a month ago for a family vacation home. Didn’t have an opportunity to use it until last weekend. We had been using a 48-year-old upright that was so heavy and hard to push, you can’t begin to imagine the difference. i chose this Oreck, as my brother and sister-in-law have an Oreck that they are very happy with. This new Elevate is so light, easy to push and maneuver, it almost makes vacuuming an enjoyable experience. I give it only four stars for two reasons. The first one is I was disappointed it did not come with attachments. I had to additionally buy the canister model. Secondly, I was also disappointed that it won’t lay flat enough to vacuum under the beds. I have a whole house vacuum and a very good canister at home, and both heads fit under the beds. Aside from those two things, we are all happy with this vacuum purchase.
