Great vacuum cleaner!

This is my second Oreck vacuum cleaner. In general I have found the Oreck vacuum cleaners to do a very nice job of cleaning. One of the nicer features is the weight. The Oreck machines are lightweight and easy carry up and down our stairs. The swivel steering is a great new feature and makes vacuuming around furniture much easier. The HEPA filtration bags do an excellent job of keeping everything inside the vacuum and out of the room.

Love the performance, hate how it works

It really picks up debris and it light and nimble. Great bag system and headlight, long cord. but… The power switch is in the wrong place for me. I can’t grip the handle without constantly inadvertently changing the motor speed too low. Constantly annoying. Nice long cord but I’m constantly struggling with it. It’s always in the way. Sounds trivial but I drove an XL for the last 20 years and it has moved to our upstairs level. NEVER had these problems with that. Bought this so we would only have to use one type of bag.

I will recommend it but also ask Oreck to reconsider the power switch location. At least recess it deeper or raise a guard around it so it’s not bumped so easily.

Not for area rugs

This vacuum has great suction but, it isn’t as light as I expected and is somewhat hard to maneuver. There is no place to put the cord in-between use…very odd for such an expensive vacuum. The most disappointing thing is it cannot be used on area rugs…it completely chews them up even on the lowest setting. I am now going to have to buy an additional vacuum to use on our area rugs. It may work good on carpet but, we have all wood, tile and area rugs. Paying more doesn’t necessarily equal the best.

Oreck Magnesium RS vacuum reviews

Oreck Magnesium RS vacuum reviews

Cleans well, light but a few drawbacks.

Been using this vacuum for a few weeks. I like it, it’s light and has good suction. My 2 complaints are: 1. the headlamp is a joke, it doesn’t illuminate anything. It’s a tiny blue light. I have a better light on my $100 prolux stick vacuum. 2. The description says that it will fit under furniture but there are 2 big wheels in it that prevent it from fitting under anything; couch, dresser, bed… Fortunately I still have my canister vacuum for that but I was hoping to save myself from hauling that up and down the stairs with this $400 item.

I like the power, but does not handle hair

Overall I think its really decent for carpets. I purchased this as a recommendation for ultra plush carpets (dyson voids warranty) But as a girl with 3 feet of hair .. it does not hold well to the “hair abuse”. Because it has the rotational “check” on the bar, I basically have to take it apart and clean the bar every room, every week – And that brings up cleaning the bar – you can only go so far and hair gets in under the bearing and I doubt this vacuum will last more than a year or two because of that. Eventually the build up will slow down rotations and the vacuum will just not start.

Very impressive

I have a Dyson Animal 7. I have had it for over ten years, and it is almost as good as it was on day one.
I have heard about Orek, but this is the first one I have used.
And this is the first time I have seriously thought about upgrading from my Dyson!

This is a very imp[ressive vacuum. It uses bags! That was unexpected, and I instantly disliked it, until I researched it. Taking out a bag puts less dirt back in the air than releasing a plastic bin. It helps a lot in keeping allergens locked away. And the cost of the bags is not prohibitive.
The noise is about average for a vacuum. But the suction is a long way from average! this lifts the carpet! Are orek the ones that show the vacuum holding up a baseball with suction alone? I understand why they use that now! This is incredible.

After vacuuming the floor, it looked cleaner than it had in a long time. The bag was quite full, and the Dyson was sitting, depressed, in the corner. Looking guilty.

Changeable bags may not be for you. But if you have allergies, any breathing issues, any medical conditions that require clean air at home, or you simply like the best, then you should introduce this vacuum to your home.

It assembles quickly and easily, is very easy to use, has bright LED headlamps so you can see what you are cleaning (my Dyson does not do that). It’s light, yet strong. Easy to control, to maneuver.

It isn’t cheap, you have to pay to get quality.

Awesome Powerful Oreck Vacuum

This Oreck Vacuum is very powerful and the Battery last for a long time, I vacuumed for about 30 minutes and the battery still was charged and could run another 30 minutes. Plus the Oreck Vacuum is Awesome because it is Cordless. I love the look of the vacuum and also the fact that it uses a bag which can hold alot more than a bagless vacuum, the vacuum is also very easy to use.

The Vacuum works on vinyl, wood, Tile floors and also works great on carpeting and rugs too, also the Vacuum can go under furniture very easy. The switch to change the settings from wood or tiles floors to carpet is on the handle so I don’t have to bend down to switch it, like I had to on other vacuums that have the switch on the bottom. The vacuum has a bright light so if there is not much light, I can see where I am vacuuming. I do not have pets but I am sure this Oreck Vacuum would have no problems picking up pet hair. I give this Vacuum a 5 Star Rating

The Best Vacuum You’ll Ever Buy!!

I love everything about this vacuum! It’s pricey but you really get what you pay for. I was so tired of problems with many other brands. My daughter is Asthmatic so I decided to go back to a bagged machine so the dust etc wouldn’t end up back into the room. Perfect vacuum if you have arthritis because the handle twists, lightweight, practically drives itself on low pile carpet. Go from carpet to bare floor easily and under the beds!

Very Nice!

Simply a lightweight and powerful vacuum with a convenient light! The bags are easy to swap out and this vacuum works well under cabinetry and furniture. Goodbye Dyson…

Not as good as the XL; Far better than Dyson

Have always been an Oreck fan. Was so sorry to lose both my XLs in the same year after 15 years of use. The Elevate is your good basic vac but it is very loud. It has great suction but rolling is absolutely a challenge on regular pile carpet with mid-grade padding. This is a huge disappointment and has been mentioned in so many reviews. It is not the roller bar. It spins perfectly, but not on my wall to wall. On area rugs with minimal pile it’s fine. wishing that were not so but love that it is lightweight and sucks great. Am trying to attach something to the bottom of the vac head to

Easy lightweight vacuum that cleans great

Love this vacuum, suction is great for my little furry pet Yorkie. Or even a larg dog. Handles smoothly, easy to use. Not to noisy it is noisy like any other vacuum. Seems to deep clean carpet. Great Vaccum!

My second Oreck vacuum

I had an Oreck for 10 years and it was the best vacuum I had ever had. It stopped working this year, but my daughter let me use hers because her apartment had no carpet or storage. It only took one day of using it to decide that I would save up for another Oreck. I was able to purchase one last month and I am thankful that I could stop using hers. It is lightweight and does not make my back or arm hurt. This is my first experience with bagless, but I think it will be great because we have dogs so it is nice to not have to wait till the bag is full. My kids are grown now and I’m looking forward to this vacuum being there through retirement.

What are the types of Oreck vacuums?

Handheld

These portable models are carried either by hand or via shoulder straps and weigh less than five pounds. They do a decent job of cleaning, especially since they usually come with hose attachments.

Canister

Oreck’s canister vacuums are lightweight at approximately five pounds. In these models, the vacuum head attaches to the canister via a hose — which means it’s flexible enough to clean hard-to-reach spaces beneath furniture.

Stick

Stick models are also relatively light, weighing up to six pounds. They are efficient and easy to use due to their rechargeable designs, though their suction has limited capabilities, making them primarily effective for cleaning wood or linoleum floors.

Upright

These traditional vacuum models weigh between eight to 10 pounds. With a wide cleaning path and powerful motorized brush, they are ideal for homes and offices that have quite a bit of debris or pet hair.

Top reasons to buy Oreck vacuums

Bags

Oreck vacuums are either bagged or bagless. Bagless models collect debris in a tube or container that is simply emptied when it’s full, whereas bagged models collect it in a disposable bag. For bagged models, keep in mind that buying bags will be an ongoing expense.

Weight

Maneuverability and weight go hand in hand when it comes to Oreck vacuums. Consider how heavy a model is to pull up stairs, trail across the floor, and carry. If you need maneuverability during your regular cleaning routine, some lightweight models may serve you best.

Flooring style

While heavy-duty Oreck models perform well on almost every type of flooring, some lightweight or compact models are better suited to either wood and linoleum floors or low-pile carpet.

Special features

HEPA filters

All Oreck vacuums are equipped with an effective HEPA filter that attracts up to 99.7% of particles that are considered allergens, including dander, pollen, mold, and dust. This convenient feature is most appreciated by those who suffer from asthma or allergies.

Attachments

Oreck vacuums that are compatible with attachment hoses offer maximize cleaning options. Small brush heads are ideal for cleaning upholstery and car seats, and small hose heads help to reach tight areas where neither the vacuum nor other attachment heads fit.

Headlights

Some Oreck vacuums have a row of headlights at the front of the head. They illuminate the floor while you clean and come in handy as you navigate around furniture and darker corners of rooms.
