How long does Reolink outdoor security camera record if motion is detected?
A motion detection will record for 6 seconds. If there is no other motion detected before the 6th second ends, then the camera will only record a 6s video and stop. If there is continuous motion detection within 6 seconds since the first motion detection, the camera will continue to record until there’s no motion in the view. Each video will be cut into 5mins at most to be stored in SD card. The record time isn’t adjustable.
Does Reolink outdoor security camera run all the time or just when I connect to view?
So this camera runs in live view when you connect to view through the app. If you watch in live view it drains the battery (at what rate I do not know). Also it only uses bandwidth on the WiFi network when you are connected to the camera. Viewing modes consist of both Fluent and Clear. Fluent is about 720p and Clear is a sharp high definition 1080p picture. The camera has three sensitivities for the PIR and it works well. Reolink Argus 2 is a great camera for tracking events and checking in on an area. If you want more than 24 hrs of recording and constant viewing you probably need a wired solution with NVR.
Is this camera (Argus 2) able to upload motion recorded video to ftp server automatically?
No the battery operated cameras do not support any type of off camera video storage. No ftp, smb, nfs. All video is stored on the SD card (not included) so if the camera is stolen you will never know what happened or who stole it.
How close to your WiFi does the camera need to be to work?
For Reolink wireless cameras, the Wi-Fi distance is 250 feet in open area, however, the Wi-Fi signal can be easily affected by obstacles, the real distance you can have depending on your environment. And the key point is the Wi-Fi coverage of the router, if the router cannot reach that far, I’m afraid the camera will not be able to work as well.
Can the batteries in the battery pack be replaced or is it a sealed pack?
It appears to be a sealed pack; however, it is a rechargeable lithium battery and should last a very long time. I am using solar panels to recharge mine; however, you can remove the battery pack and recharge at put back in the camera base. I have not found it necessary to research into purchasing a separate or spare battery pack. The older Argus Camera did have non-rechargeable batteries that could be replaced
How long would SD card and battery last on continuous play?
Reolink battery-powered camera record based on motion detection (used PIR sensor). It will enter the standby mode to save the battery power when no motion is triggered or the user is not accessing it, for the normal triggers and using (10 times a day and 1 minute each time), it will last about 2 months. In continuous operation, the battery life lasts 960 minutes for day session or 540 minutes in night mode
Can you set Reolink outdoor security camera in 2 different locations?
This works connected to the internet to be able to stream what gets recorded on the SD card. So it can be at different locations but needs to be connected to a network of u want to see the streams from a different location. U will just use your cell phone data to connect and see the stream from the other location.
