What are the similarities – Tineco PURE ONE s12 plus vs Dyson v11

To talk about the differences let’s start with the similarities. Both vacuums can be transferred into a handheld mode, have extra accessories in the box, both are HEPA, the main machine is fully washable. Each has a display that shows estimated battery life, cleaning mode, etc. Since the Tineco and Dyson have strong suction, they are ideal for all types of surface and pet hair. Can be used in big houses.

Each model is a decent cordless vacuum and you will not go wrong with either of them.

Key differences – Tineco PURE ONE s12 plus vs Dyson v11

Battery life

The differences between the two in small details. The Tineco cleaners have a detachable battery and normally have two in the box which helps to extend battery life. The Dyson’s battery id built-in and can not be removed manually but the manufacturer claims its battery lasts up to 15 years. The type of batteries is also different: Li-Ion (Tineco) and Nickel Cobalt Aluminum (Dyson). With two batteries, the Tineco works up to 100 minutes while the Dyson can go for about 70 minutes on one charge.

Accessories kit

Another thing to point out would be the modifications. The Dyson V11 has three main models: Absolute, Torque Drive, and Animal. The difference between these cleaners is the accessories kit and also the Animal version has a more baseline display. When mentioning the Tineco PURE ONE S12 Series it has four modifications: S12 M Lite, S12 M, S12, and S12 PLUS. The S12 M Lite and M modifications are a bit different, those machines don’t have a display, the M cleaner includes a smart camera, they both also have a Bluetooth speaker and a phone stand. The S12 and S12 PLUS have a display and adjustable suction power that allows setting suction depending on cleaning tasks.

In terms of cleaning power, the four of them are the same, only the S12 and S12 PLUS are equipped with bigger batteries and last longer than the “M” Series.

LED Display

One of the coolest things about the Tineco cleaners is LED lights that track dust in hard-to-reach places. The main cleaning brushes have it while the Dyson cleaners lack the lights.

Only the Tineco PURE ONE s12 plus vs Dyson v11 have a soft roller which is more efficient on hard floors

Bigger dustbin

The Dyson V11 has a bigger dustbin. It holds 760 ml when the Tineco’s bin is 600 ml. The difference may be noticeable if you have two pets that shade a lot so you will have to empty the bin after every use. In fact, we recommend doing so after every cleaning anyway because when a clogged filter causes suction loss.

HEPA Filter

Speaking of filtration, both are HEPA but they have different filter types. The Dyson has a traditional filter that can be washed with water and dry for about 12 hours. The Tineco has a rinse-free cleaning system that helps to clean the filter during vacuuming. All you need is to wipe out dust and it’s all set.

The Tineco PURE ONE s12 plus vs Dyson v11 are perfect for allergy sufferers

Cleaning power

The Dyson V11 delivers 185 W of power and is the strongest cordless cleaner on the market. It is more powerful than most corded vacuums too. The Tineco is a bit weaker but powerful enough to provide deep carpet cleaning and remove pet hair, dust, dirt, and pollens.

Smart Features

We already mentioned the display. It is similar in both models, the Tineco has a bigger one. Seeing estimated battery life helps a lot when cleaning a big house.

Each model is equipped with smart sensors that help to save battery life. The Tineco’s system recognizes dust; the Dyson’s boosts suction on carpets. Both are pretty efficient, works accurately and it might seem that dust recognition is better but considering the Dyson’s power, they are equal.

The Tineco also can be connected to the app. Only a few vacuum cleaners have this option.

Dyson V11

Let’s talk about the Dyson V11. It comes in three options: Animal, Torgue Drive, and Absolute. So far, the Absolute is not available to buy in the US; however, it is on sale in the UK. Actually there is also an Absolute+ version that is available to buy in some countries only. It has a few more accessories than the Absolute and also a standing charging dock.

Tineco PURE ONE s12 plus vs Dyson v11

The Absolute has the same accessory kit that the Torque Drive version and in addition, it is equipped with a roller head that is more suitable for bare floor cleaning.

The Dyson is equipped with a LED/LCD screen depending on a model. The LED display is basic, it shows battery level, and you can switch between cleaning modes, the LCD screen allows doing the same only it also has a countdown timer.

The Dyson V11 is powered by the Dyson digital motor that delivers 185 W on max mode. So far, it is the most powerful cordless vacuum cleaner on the market.

With a built-in battery, you get up to 70 minutes of runtime depending on the cleaning mode and a tool you’re using.

The vacuum can sense carpets to provide deeper cleaning

The best thing about the Dyson V11 – Dynamic Load Sensor (DLS) sensor. This sensor recognizes carpeted surface and boosts up suction power to max level. When vacuuming a carpet, the battery drains faster, but the Dyson V11 is more efficient since the max mode is turned on only on carpet.

The Dyson V11 has HEPA filtration, it is safe for allergy and asthma sufferers

With a wall-mounted docking station, the Dyson V11 can be stored on a wall. It also holds some additional accessories.

Open the dustbin with one action

This vacuum is safe for allergies and asthma sufferers thanks to the HEPA filtration. The dustbin gets emptied by one simple move making cleaning user-friendly.

The Dyson V11 is the most powerful cordless vacuum cleaner, it performs flawlessly on bare flooring and provides deep cleaning on high-pile carpets handling even ultra-fine debris. With long battery life, the cleaner is perfect for bigger homes, it gives you enough power even on low and medium power settings.

Tineco Pure One S12 Plus

Tineco Pure One S12 and Tineco Pure One S12 Plus are a bit more advanced. The Plus version is the same S12 with a soft roller in the package. Same story with the Dyson V11 Torque Drive and Absolute.

The Tineco has a LED display, it shows battery level, estimated cleaning time, how much the brush roller is tangled, suction power, malfunction, etc.

Know estimated cleaning time with the LED screen

Two detachable batteries work up to 50 minutes each, when using one, the other one can be charging. In Max mode, the Tineco gives you the whole 20 minutes of cleaning (10 minutes each battery).

The Tineco Pure One S12/S12 PLUS are perfect for big households

The HEPA filtration of the Tineco is fantastic. With other filters, you have to wash it with water and let it dry. Tineco’s filter does not need water. To make it clean, wipe it out, and it’s ready to go.

So if the Dyson V11 detects carpets, the Tineco has the iLoop Dust Sensor. It recognizes big messes and boosts suction power to provide deeper cleaning. It is more efficient, the battery lasts longer since you don’t have to set max power settings. If your hard floors are dirty, the Tineco will boost suction, and if your carpet is not that dirty, the Tineco will save battery energy by not giving extra power when it’s not needed.

The Tineco identifies dirty zoned and provides deeper cleaning on those spots

Another thing we have not seen before – power suction control. The slider allows you to switch between Manual and Auto modes, with a capacitive touch bar, easily swipe up and down to adjust power.

Adjust suction power whether you need to clean big messes or use the Tineco for quick cleanups

The Tineco Pure One S12 is powered by a 150 W motor which is equivalent to the one inside the Dyson V10 which was the strongest in the industry before the Dyson V11 had been released.

With the “Plus” version, you get two cleaning heads equipped with LED lights that help to track dust and dirt in hard-to-reach places. Other models are equipped with one multi-tasker LED brush with stiff bristles.

Track dirty spots with the LED lights

The Tineco is the first cordless vacuum cleaner with an app. The app allows you to receive real-time updates and keep track of your cleaning report, also easy to check malfunction, etc.

The Tineco is one of a few cordless vacuum cleaners that have an app

The Tineco has a Dual charging wall mount that holds the vacuum and 3 additional accessories onboard.

The Tineco Pure One S12 is a powerful vacuum cleaner that works well where it is carpet or bare-flooring. By adjusting suction power, you save battery life if you don’t need extra power when vacuuming bare flooring or thin carpets. 100 minutes of battery life makes the Tineco perfect for big homes. A smart sensing system knows where bigger messes are and provides deeper cleaning on those spots.

The Tineco Pure One S12 PLUS comes with two cleaning heads: one for bare floor and the second one for carpet. The Dyson V11 Absolute is equipped with two rollers as well, but the Absolue version does not come to the US market anytime soon, however, you can get the soft-roller on Amazon separately.

Those are the only cordless vacuum cleaners that have some smart systems which boost suction whether the machine is on carpet or detects big messes.

Carpet detection saves battery live in case your surface is mixed. Dust detection works the same way saving battery life when extra power is not needed which makes the Tineco lasts longer.

The Tineco has airflow from 26 CFM to 43 CFM depending on the power setting which is more than the Dyson V10 on low power delivers (26 CFM vs. 18 CFM) but is higher on high power settings (43 CFM vs. 41 CFM).

The Dyson V11 delivers 30 CFM on low power and 59 CFM on high power. We should mention that 43 CFM is a lot for a cordless vacuum, only the Dyson V11 shows more.

In a deep carped test made by Vacuum Wars, the Tineco S12 got 99% and the Dyson V11 got 102% and these are extremely high results even for corded vacuums.

The human hair test shows that the Tineco does a good job of transferring almost all hair straight into the dustbin. The Dyson also was good at this test, but the Tineco has a better anti-tangle system.

The pickup test shows mainly that both of them do a superb job at picking up different sized things from ultra-fine to large debris on carpet. Due to lack of the soft roller, the Dyson needs the gate to be open when picking up large stuff like cereals but it the end, it did well even with the carpet head. The Tineco though struggles with large debris on hard floor when the carpet roller is attached but has no issues when you switch it with the soft roller head.

Battery life is something to consider. The Dyson V11 has one built-in battery that lasts up to 74 minutes at 30 CFM on low and up to 8 minutes at 56 CFM on high power settings.

The Tineco has two detachable batteries that allow using the vacuum longer. One battery gets 50 minutes at 26 CFM on low and 10 minutes at 43 CFM on high power settings. Remember, if you use the second battery, cleaning time will double-up. Also, there is the Auto mode that optimizes battery life depending on the settings you set.

The four S12 models fall into a good, better, best ranking. The S12 M and S12 M Lite are good, the S12 standard is better, and the S12 Plus is best. All S12 models use the same motor.

6 Reasons why you should by the Tineco Pure One S12 plus

  1. Excellent cleaning performance: The Pure One S12 has excellent airflow, which translates to outstanding dirt pickup on bare floors and carpets.
  2. Lots of tools: The top-spec option will provide users with 14 attachments (if you include the extension wand) that will help folks clean different parts of their home.
  3. Two batteries: It comes with two Li-ion batteries that will run for up to 102 minutes (more than the claimed 100 minutes).
  4. LED headlights: Both the soft roller and direct drive tools have LED lights that help track dirt.
  5. Excellent build quality: This variant is the best so far of all Tineco stick vacuums when it comes to the quality of plastics used and how easy it is to attach or remove tools.
  6. Deep cleans carpet: The 99% score of the Pure One S12 in the deep cleaning tests surprised me.

Worth buying – Tineco PURE ONE s12 plus vs Dyson v11

The Tineco PURE ONE S12 M Lite costs ~$400, the most-featured Tineco PURE ONE S12 PLUS will cost you ~$650. The Dyson V11 Animal has a $485 price tag, the Torque Drive would be ~$570, and the Absolute version is on sale for about $800.

When the price if about the same, we have to look deeper at the advantages of each. Both vacuums are premium models and are great at picking up pet hair, handling ultra-fine debris even on high-pile carpets and perform well on bare flooring.

The Tineco has detachable batteries, longer runtime, dust detect which is, in our opinion, is more efficient than carpet recognition, power control, easy-to-clean HEPA filter, LED lights heads, and the app. If your surface is mixed, you don’t want to spend more time on maintaining, need the ability to adjust suction power the way you need, you have pets or long hair, consider getting the Tineco PURE ONE S12. The Tineco also handles hair a little bit better than the Dyson so if your hair is long or you have pets, keep that in mind. If you don’t have carpets, we would either recommend getting the S12 PLUS model or any of the other models and buy a soft roller separately.

On the other hand, the Dyson V11 has a stronger motor and would be more suitable for homes with thick shaggy carpets, it has a bigger dustbin, which makes it more suitable for those who have pets. If your home is mostly about carpets or you have more than one pet and need extra cleaning power, get the Dyson V11. If you are looking for a decent cordless vacuum to clean carpets – any of those two would be ideal to get. The Torque Drive version though does not have a soft-roller head but it might not make a difference if you don’t have a big area of hardwood flooring.
