Key features comparison – Tineco Pure One S12 vs Dyson v11
Tineco Pure One S12
The unique Pure One S12 stick from Tineco is the first offering that they call their ‘Smart’ cordless vacuums. This new technology applies to their battery management, suction power, filter cleaning, LED display, and more. It’s really designed to make it easier to use the vacuum as you don’t have to worry about settings or maintenance as the machine will handle it for you (or let you know when any maintenance is required). This is a big step forward for the company and a major reason why the Pure One can compete with the likes of Dyson or any other well known brand.
- iLoop™ Dust Sensor detects the amount of dust/dirt and will adjust the suction power accordingly. This is not only for deep cleaning the carpet but also for saving power as it only uses what is necessary to get the job done.
- All-In-One LED Display shows you battery information, suction setting, Wi-Fi status, brush roll tangling, and even the amount of dust particles in the carpeting.
- Direct Drive Multi-Tasker Power Brush works like a 2 in 1 head as it has one brush for both hard floors (tile, linoleum, …) and carpets. You can seemlessly travel between rooms without changing attachments or settings.
- Smart Rinse Filter Cleaning Tool cleans the filter instantly to help keep suction constant, allowing you to clean more efficiently.
- Max Power Setting lets you boost suction up to 150 air watts of power for deep and thorough cleaning as needed.
- 500W Rating Power is more than enough for thick and high pile carpets.
Dyson V11
The V11 cordless from Dyson is another strong offering in their cordless lineup that checks all the boxes. It has extreme power (even more than their stellar V10) while the batteries provide a longer runtime. The biggest difference between this and prior models like the V8 and V10 is it comes with their Dynamic Load Sensor (DLS) technology which is constantly detecting brush bar resistance to adjust the suction power. It actually does this hundreds of times per second so the reaction is pretty much instant. Not only does this help you deep clean carpets but it also saves the battery for those times when it is needed most.
Other features found on the V11 include:
- 3 Suction Modes include Auto, Boost, and Eco to suit any surface or application you will find around your house. Auto is especially adept at sensing how much power to put down to the head.
- 2 in 1 High Torque Head has stiff bristles that deep clean your carpeting while the carbon fiber filaments attract fine dust on hard flooring.
- Large Lithium Ion Battery contains nickel cobalt aluminum cathodes to boost power by 20% over their prior generation of batteries.
- Large LCD Display shows the performance in real time. This includes remaining battery life, current power mode, filter maintenance, and more.
- Improved Digital Motor spins at about 125,000 RPMs to generate massive amounts of G force inside the air pathways.

Filtration
Both the Dyson V11 and the Tineco Pure One S12 are designed for whole household cleaning of all floor types. Since this includes carpets where dust mites love to hide, you really need a high quality HEPA filter (or filters) to trap them before the air is returned back into your home. Both of these competitors come with HEPA filtration as well as a fully sealed system to make sure nothing can escape once it is trapped. This was a big problem with prior generation bagless vacuums that would do a good job of capturing dust but not so much at keeping it inside the collection bin. Luckily for us that is a thing of the past.
Dyson has a more standard setup where you can rinse the filter when it becomes dirty. Since the V11 is a Smart vacuum it will remind you when it is time, a big improvement of prior models. As long as you keep the filter free of dirt particles the suction will remain powerful, among the best in the industry (more on that below). So the choice in this category really comes down to preference. Both vacuums have great HEPA filtration but are cleaned in a slightly different manner.
The Tineco has a really unique feature that almost makes the filter ‘maintenance free’. It comes with what they call their Smart Filter Self Cleaning tool which cleans the filter automatically with no rinsing, in almost no time. This is about as hands free as you can get, and it keeps the suction power much stronger as their is a constant flow of air throughout.
Battery capacity
Batteries are very important when you are comparing two different cordless stick vacuum cleaners.
The Tineco Pure One S12 also comes with lithium ion technology but the difference is you get 2 removable batteries, each rated at 2,000 mAh. These detachable offerings can be charged at any time so you can clean with one while charging the other. The total runtime between the 2 is about 80 minutes so you can handle all cleaning chores at once. Should the need arise you can also buy a replacement battery without the need to purchase a whole new cleaner. In our minds this is a big advantage and one that we hope Dyson incorporates in their lineup in the future.
Dyson has always been at the forefront of battery innovation and it’s no surprise that their V11 has their best offerings yet. When compared to the V10 it is a larger, higher capacity lithium ion unit with nickel-cobalt aluminum cathodes that deliver 20% more suction. The battery is designed to be more powerful but more efficient which really fits in with the direction the industry is going. They are focusing their efforts on cordless vacuums that can perform entire household cleaning, essentially replacing the corded models of old. But while their battery technology is second to none there is one flaw…it is non-removable so you have to charge it while it is still in the vacuum.
Run time – Tineco Pure One S12 vs Dyson v11
Battery life is something to consider. The Dyson V11 has one built-in battery that lasts up to 74 minutes at 30 CFM on low and up to 8 minutes at 56 CFM on high power settings.
The Tineco has two detachable batteries that allow using the vacuum longer. One battery gets 50 minutes at 26 CFM on low and 10 minutes at 43 CFM on high power settings. Remember, if you use the second battery, cleaning time will double-up. Also, there is the Auto mode that optimizes battery life depending on the settings you set.
Suction Power
The Tineco Pure One is no slouch in the power department either. During normal use it has ample suction for all types of floors though it won’t pull as hard as the Dyson. The main difference here is the smart technology that enables it to detect when there are larger amounts of embedded dust particles to adjust suction accordingly. This gives you the extra boost you need without having to hit the Boost mode like you would on the V11 (though Dyson’s Auto mode is pretty adept at this as well). Not only does it save on battery life but it also makes the Pure One behave like a much more powerful vacuum than it really is. This is the future of cordless vacuums and a huge selling point of the Tineco.
The Dyson V11 is improved over their ultra powerful V10, coming in at about 20% more suction power. The digital motor is very similar and actually spins at about the same RPMs (125,000) but the airflow is improved and the blades have a newer design. All of this makes it the most powerful cordless vacuum you can buy as it pulls over 150 air watts on the highest setting. This is more than most full sized corded uprights for comparison sake.
Cleaning performance review – Tineco Pure One S12 vs Dyson V11
The Dyson V11 delivers 30 CFM on low power and 59 CFM on high power. We should mention that 43 CFM is a lot for a cordless vacuum, only the Dyson V11 shows more.
The Tineco has airflow from 26 CFM to 43 CFM depending on the power setting which is more than the Dyson V10 on low power delivers (26 CFM vs. 18 CFM) but is higher on high power settings (43 CFM vs. 41 CFM).
In a deep carped test made by Vacuum Wars, the Tineco S12 got 99% and the Dyson V11 got 102% and these are extremely high results even for corded vacuums.
The human hair test shows that the Tineco does a good job of transferring almost all hair straight into the dustbin. The Dyson also was good at this test, but the Tineco has a better anti-tangle system.
The pickup test shows mainly that both of them do a superb job at picking up different sized things from ultra-fine to large debris on carpet. Due to lack of the soft roller, the Dyson needs the gate to be open when picking up large stuff like cereals but it the end, it did well even with the carpet head. The Tineco though struggles with large debris on hard floor when the carpet roller is attached but has no issues when you switch it with the soft roller head.
Customer review – Tineco Pure One S12 vs Dyson v11
Best investment ever!!
This is a splurge I have to say but this is one of the best investments that I have made recently. I live in an apartment where there isn’t a lot of storage space, so the compact size is perfect for me. I used it to clean the whole apartment and it still has 20% of battery left plus there is ANOTHER battery that lasts 50 minutes. That is impressive! The display that shows if the floor is clean or dirty is one of my favorite features.
Other features I like is being able to adjust the suction strength manually or allowing the vacuum to adjust the suction, nothing gets caught in the roller, and you can see how clean the filter is. It comes with a ton of attachments, I spent a little bit time to get familiar with each of them and loved the versatility of it. I used PURE ONE S12 to clean my car and just realized how dirty my car is after seeing the loop turned red on the screen.
I haven’t found any downside of this vacuum except for the pricing however I’ll keep testing it out for a little bit longer and provide updates if there are any. Overall this vacuum has made cleaning a painless task for me and I would recommend this vacuum to anyone who’s looking for a higher-end vacuum cleaner – it does the job and worth the price!

Top of the line quality and price
The brains Dyson added to this vaccuum, along with the bigger battery capacity, have immensley added to the vacuum time I get on a charge. I am leaving it set on Auto, and It is darn near twice the square feet I am getting vacuumed on a single charge. I just leave it up to the vaccuum to set the power as I go from carpet to hard wood to stone. Well done Dyson.
I have been using, for the past year or so, a V8 Animal that I bought for about $325 on sale at my local membership warehouse store. And I absolutely love it. It is far and away the best cordless vacuum I have ever used. But I can only get 1/2 my house cleaned before it goes dead. So I wanted to get another cordless to have one upstairs and one downstairs. Enter the V11 Animal. And the V11 is another outstanding cordless vacuum.
Compared to the V8, the V11 is more powerful and lasts quite a bit longer on a charge. And honestly, that would be my expectation for a new model being introduced. Where does the V11 really stand out compared to the V8? The best improvement is the ‘Auto” setting. The V11 adjusts its suction for the floor it is being used on. On carpet, it turns up the suction for a deeper clean. And when it rolls off onto the hardwood it dials back. I don’t know how it does it but it does it well. I found it cleaned every surface effortlessly and well. With the V8, I have to flip the switch to low when I get to the gel mats in the kitchen or It will suck the brush head down so hard the brushes would stop rolling. And with the V8, I always used high on the hardwood because it picked up so much better than low – but drained the battery very quickly.
The extra power of the V11 does add size and weight to the vacuum, but not too much. The battery is a bit bigger, the motor is a bit bigger and the filter is bigger. Both the V8 and the V11 can get a bit tiring for high vacuuming. Like the V8, the V11 filter is easily accessible for cleaning.
Hats off to Dyson for keeping the attachments with the same fittings. The V8 and V11 attachments are interchangeable. But the lack of two attachments with the V11 added to my 4 star rating. The V8 animal came with a soft dusting brush and, most importantly, an 90 degree adjustable elbow tube. That tube is a big deal because it is really the only way to avoid getting out a ladder to vacuum the top of a valance or other high object with a flat top. One thing I absolutely love about the cordless concept is the ability to stand flat footed on the floor and vacuum the top of my drapery, and you have to have a 90 degree elbow to do that. At this price, Dyson should be throwing those two attachments in. Thank goodness, the attachments are interchangeable.
In the end, the V11 wins in ease of use, power and battery life. At $200 more that the V8, those improvements come at a hefty price. So what keeps the V11 from 5 stars is the missing attachments and the price.
