UMIDIGI Power 3 review
Design
While it looks like a powder-coated aluminium, the curved battery cover is actually made from a high-end polycarbonate, or to you and me, plastic. It feels nice to the touch with a slightly soft-touch texture.
While on paper the 10.3mm sounds thick, the curved battery cover makes it feel very manageable in one hand. Giving the UMiDigi Power 3 a twist and squeeze doesn’t reveal any obvious weaknesses with the device feeling solid.
There’s no hiding where UMiDigi got its inspiration for that camera bump and midnight green colourway, but who cares, they’ve created a real beauty!
Display
The selfie hole-punch camera is small at only 4.5mm, making the phone look fantastic with only a small chin at the bottom of the device. The full-HD display itself looks great with bright and punchy colours on the huge 6.53″ panel.
Max brightness is good, with the phone easily being viewable outdoors and viewing angles are also good.
Powerful Cameras
What sets the UMiDigi Power 3 apart from the big-battery competition is its cameras. With 4 cameras lens on the back, you have plenty of options for framing your photos or videos.
Both the 48MP main camera & 13MP wide-angle camera can take great photos with good dynamic range and punchy colours. Low-light photos do suffer though with plenty of grain & sharpness lost at night time.
Overall though, price-considered, the Power 3 cameras are excellent.
Rear Camera
- 48MP Main Lens @ f/1.79 aperture
- 13MP Wide Angle Lens (120-degree)
- 5MP Depth Sensor
- 5MP Macro
- Dual LED Flash / Torch
- Extras: AI Scene Detection, Macro, Portrait, Panorama, Face Recognition
- Video 1080p @ 30fps
Front Camera (Selfie time)
- 16MP Samsung Lens
- AI Beautify
- Face Recognition & Beauty Mode
Video
It’s not a deal-breaker but certainly a step down from 2020’s flagship devices. Once you switch to video on the main lens, dynamic range drops and the 48MP lens struggles to catch bright background and dark foregrounds.
The 5MP macro video is really fun to play with and you can get some fantastic nature close up shots. There is image stabilisation built into the main lens which takes some of the shakiness when walking. One issue I did notice was the auto-focus would re-adjust frequently when on automatic.
Connectivity
You’re getting a true dual-SIM phone with the Power 3. Both SIM ports are 4G and the SD Card slot with take up to a 256GB card. With the low price, it’s nice to see the addition of NFC as well as access to 4 GPS systems for more accurate maps & directions. You’re also getting a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom as well as dual-band AC WiFi.
Call Quality
I didn’t have any issues with call quality during my test calls, with the internal mic picking up my voice clearly.
UK Network Support: Full (4G, 3G + VoLTE)
US Network Support: Check US Cell Support @ Amazon
WiFi: 2.4 + 5Ghz (a,b,g,n,ac) (WiFi Direct + WiFi Display)

Bluetooth: 4.2
USB: Type-C
Face ID Unlock & Fingerprint Unlock
Face ID is fast & accurate. The rear fingerprint unlock is a little slow though. I’m not sure if this is a software bug that UMiDigi will fix soon, but for now, stick with the Face ID unlock.
Loudspeaker
There’s a single speaker on the bottom of the phone which isn’t the best quality and doesn’t offer the best max volume.
Battery Life
It’s nice to see that UMiDigi included a full 18w (1.5amps @ 12v) charger in the box which competes nicely with Xiaomi’s mid-range mobile lineup.
The 6150mAa battery will easily get you between 9-11 hours of screen on time which is fantastic. For most casual users, you’ll only be charging the UMiDigi Power every couple of days.
Included in the box is a premium red USB to Type-C cable, similar to what OnePlus offers, but you also get a short Type-C to Type-C cable to take advantage of the 10w reverse charging. This is great if you need to charge your headphones or other gadgets on the go, although you’ll need to remember the cable to take advantage of this.
Battery Specs: 6150mAh (18w Fast Charge + 10w Reverse Charge)
UMIDIGI Power 3 Performance review
It’s good news again as the Helio P60 processor coupled with the stock version of Android 10 makes light work of multitasking and gaming. Having used the phone for 5 days, we can safely say that there are no issues with performance.
Storage-wise, there’s only one option which is 64GB’s. Thanks to a dedicated SD card slot on the SIM-tray, you can easily add more storage as needed.
Screen Tech Specs: 6.53″, 2340 x 1080 resolution, 395 PPI, Hole Punch Display, LCD IPS
Performance Specs CPU: MediaTek Helio P60 (8 Cores @ 2GHz)
RAM: 4GB LPDDR4X Dual Channel

UMIDIGI Power 3 customer review
Outstanding value for the money!
Ok. Right off the bat. The value for money for this phone is tremendous! Is the build quality as good as a $1,000 phone? Nope. Is it still pretty good when you consider that it costs a fraction of the price of ‘flagship’ cell phones today? Of cooooourse! The screen is bright and sharp with just enough color saturation to make apps and video pop. The single firing speaker is crap but the 3.5 mm headphone jack works just fine and music sounds very good when plugged in.
The speed and snappiness of the Helio processor coupled with 4 GB of RAM and and android 10 have made for a surprisingly smooth and fast experience. I’m running Nova Launcher and it’s very smooth with just the occasional hiccup, but again for the money? This phone is hard to beat. The battery is outstanding, I took the phone off it’s charger at 100% at 9 am and it’s got 54% at 10:30 pm. That’s 8 hrs and 15 minutes of SOT so far!
I’m using the phone on T-Mobile and the cellular radio in the phone is strong with solid reception in my living area, 4G LTE all the way. Voice over WiFi also works flawlessly. Call reception is crisp and loud through the headset and via Bluetooth with no issues. Let’s talk camera! Ok, people really need to get over themselves when it comes to cellphone photography.
The images delivered by the Power 3 are sharp with decent dynamic range and color reproduction. Basically your Instagram and Facebook photo game will be just fine with this phone and the flexibility of 4 lenses just adds to the appeal. Overall for the price the Umidigi Power 3 is an outstanding value and I’m happy to use it as my daily driver.
