Camera

This DVR camera system combo from ZOSI is packed with a built-in 1TB hard drive. There are also several packages available with as much as 8 cameras you can buy depending on your needs and requirements.

Every camera will require a 120-volts AC power outlet where it can be plugged into so you have to give some careful planning on where you will put it. The DVR itself also require an Ethernet wire to run to the router to give network ability to the system. The cameras themselves can also automatically sync with the DVR after everything has been plugged in. You can watch or record a 720p resolution. If you set it up on the home, you can network apps which can be used for watching and monitoring the cameras straight from your mobile devices.

Night vision

The IP system is packed with an HDMI resolution of 1280 x 720 together with a 1.0 Megapixel 1/4″ Progressive Scan Sensor which further enhances the performance of the camera. The long lasting and waterproof exterior design of the camera can also shake of wind, rain and snow. With its 4.6mm lens, this Zosi Security Camera captures everything very well and maybe is even a little bit too wide for some people, but personally I had no problem with the view it took.

The ZOSI Security Camera System comes with a night vision magnification in room range of 30 meters of 100 feet. The camera system also comes with IR LEDs together with 4mm lens and IR-CUT function.

This also has a night vision capacity with 4 Channel Security 960P HD Network IP NVR Wifi Kit and there is the additional support of the smartphone remote view with a 1TB hard disk.

Image quality

ZOSI 720p 8-channel home security camera system installation and review

If you’re on the market for a good surveillance system, make sure that you buy one that has decent night vision footage. The way this Zosi security camera is designed, with its 42 infrared LEDs, it is capable of capturing a clear picture for up to 110 feet at night. It also comes with AGC (Auto-Gain Control) and BLC (Back Light Compensation), to make its image quality that much better.

I don’t really understand how this Zosi DVR video surveillance system came so cheap with all the functionality it has, but it is a great deal and I’m not complaining.

WiFi

The system also has its very own built-in Wi-Fi high stability and high performance module. The 4PCS megapixel IP camera system can also connect automatically between IPC and NVR

Remote Viewing with ZOSI app

ZOSI 720p 8-channel home security camera system installation and review

As far as a Zosi app review, most people understand that they can view their system from their smartphones. What you might not know is that the system will also email you when it detects motion. It’ll snap a picture and send that picture to your email. You’ll then decide whether you want to power up the app and view the situation in real time.

ZOSI Camera System Installation

Mount it in a suitable place

First, in the installation position, in order to enable the camera to avoid interference from the surrounding environment and to achieve better monitoring effect and increased surveillance coverage.

For indoor installation, we should ensure that the height of the equipment is not less than 2.5 meters.

And in the outdoor environment, we should also place the monitoring equipment at a height of more than 3 meters from the ground. Otherwise, whether considering from the self-protection of camera or equipment monitoring, the cameras may not be able to obtain its best monitoring effect.

Get right Camera Angle

First, you should pay attention to the angle of the lens when setting up cameras. If the cameras are without WDR (wide dynamic range), you may need to avoid direct light source and do not install the camera against the light based on the principle of backlight compensation.

Of course, it is better to use cameras with WDR function to avoid this problem. ZOSI cameras are commonly with WDR, which enable to see and capture clearer image even under different lighting. So even in a relatively worse lighting set, ZOSI cameras with WDR can compensate the light to obtain a vivid and vibrant image.

Second, the surveillance device shall be fixed firmly during installation to prevent the lens’s shaking. For the wall, you can use the percussion drill to hit a hole, plug the plug, and then use the confess thread to fix the bracket to the wall.

Height of the Security Camera and connect

The height of the surveillance camera should not be too low—to prevent malicious damage from others, nor too high—it is not convenient for future maintenance.

It is recommended that the installation height be 3 or 4 meters, so you can get it simply by stepping on a ladder.you should make sure the camera is at least waterproof to withstand the natural weathers. Weatherproof cameras like ZOSI Outdoor Wireless IP Camera with IP67 rating allows placing the cameras in the harshest outdoor environment, no matter the torrential rain or the freezing blizzard won’t be a match for it.

  • Local Access: Connect the system to a monitor or TV via the HDMI cable or VGA cable;
  • Remote Access: (Also need to connect the system to internet) Easy to get live streaming or playback videos via ZOSI App on iOS & Android devices, through ZOSI Client software on Windows or Mac,or via major browsers.

ZOSI 720p 8-channel home security camera system customer review

Great system, super sharp cameras, wide coverage, excellent customer service via Facebook

Size: 8Cameras

This is a great alternative to other security systems that require batteries or monthly subscriptions. We purchased eight cameras to cover the interior of the house, the backyard, and the front yard.

The Pros:
– Cameras cover a wide range
– Options for video, audio, and still camera
– Record to DVR
– Phone app gives peace of mind when away from home
– Very sensitive motion sensors that are adjustable
– Excellent night vision
– Add a camera or two or three…

The Cons
– This is a system that has a lot of wires. We ran it through the attic then drilled holes into the ceiling of the room with the DVR so you need to be sure you know where you want the DVR set up or you’ll be moving wires or drilling more holes
– Getting the DVR and phone app set up and both streaming was a challenge. I had to contact customer service for help. I could not find any USA phone numbers that worked. Email customer support was slow and not helpful. Finally, I found the best help via Facebook and they got things reset and up and running.
– Instructions are all online

Overall, this is a really nice security system with many options to adjust to your needs. For the price, it beats out all the others that connect with wifi or batteries and by far surpasses those with monthly subscriptions. You may need to hire someone to install it depending on how handy you are or if you can crawl through the attic. It took a weekend to get everything set up and cameras mounted. Now that it is working properly we are totally thrilled with this system.

Great product. Excellent support

Size Name: 4 1080P Camera kit NO HDD

This is the second Zosi cctv system I’ve purchased (the previous purchase being in 2016). Both systems have sat in their boxes untouched until recently when I decided to set it up.

Like any wiring job, it’s tedious and time-consuming to route the wires all over the house to ensure a neat end result. Fortunately, we did a complete kitchen renovation and were able to install conduit in the ceiling through which some of the cables were routed together with cat6a ethernet cables for every room in the house.

Wiring aside, however, setup is so easy. Connect the cables to the DVR. Connect the DVR to a TV or monitor and job done! I couldn’t get the dome cameras that came with this dvr to work with the dvr I bought in 2016, but that’s understandable. The bullet cameras that came with that dvr work fine together with the dome cameras on this latest dvr purchase. We now have both dvrs in operation: this lastest one as the main system covering the house and the 2016 dvr covering the back garden.

I hit a snag when trying to view the system remotely with my old Lenovo T500 laptop running Windows 10. The manufacturer has various software to down load for windows, mac, android phones and tablets and iphones etc. But, I simply couldn’t view remotely on my old laptop, which was a major disappointment. That’s when Zosi’s support team came to the rescue.

There’s a time difference so it took a week to get it sorted but the Zosi support (Joven) was brilliant. He eventually got Zosi’s tech team to remotely work on my laptop and they established that the problem lay with the old graphics card. They got me to switch laptops with my wife and “bingo!”, we were now able to view the cameras remotely. I now have the software working perfectly on two laptops.

One of these days I’ll invest in a smart phone and Zosi have apps for that, but, right now, I’m happy knowing we can go away with a laptop and be able to login and view all the cameras at our home.

I’ve no doubt there are better cctv systems on the market but value-for-money-wise, it’s hard to beat these Zosi ones and folks appear to buy the Zosi cameras for other makes of cctv systems because they’re such good value.

Happy customer!
