They work great – IF – you apply the mount vertically on a wall. My side cameras have to be mounted horizontally under the eaves to get the full side of the house. The little ball does not allow for the camera to sit at a straighter level to capture all the way down the side of the house. It points in a down direction. So with the 3 windows and 1 door I have, it covers the first window and then 1/2 way to the ground on the 2nd, 3rd window and door. I had to use the mount that came with the camera. Not secure. Arlo – you need to redesign these.

This really is so much more convenient than having to pull the camera down to switch out batteries every week. I put this on my cameras by my door that gets a ton of activity with my kids going in and out all the time so that I wouldn’t have to be changing out batteries all the time. And even though this location only gets a few hours of direct sunlight a day, this camera never gets below 90% charge. I will be curious to see how well it performs once we get into the cloudier winter months, but so far, I am really happy! The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is they are just TOO EXPENSIVE. I can buy a full size 100-watt solar panel for about the same price as this tiny thing.
