Does this record continually or only when motion is detected?
1 if they were to stream continuously the battery life would shorten significantly
2. The cloud records and saves any video streamed to it which is when motion triggered. You need an NVR to distinguish the motion sensing and start/stop recording within the stream.
3. This system and ALL the home security based camera systems are made in China. I’d be curious to know where the “cloud” servers are located.
Does this work with any WIFi?
I have 3 XT2 cameras. They have been in use for one month with no issues. I did have to put in a TP-Link AC1750 Wifi Range Extender and find the best place to put the sync module. The voice doesn’t work very well. My house is a 2-story frame house. The router is on the second floor. The range extender and sync module are on the first floor. I use Verizon Fios internet which is very strong & fast (speedtest 97 Mbps download, 107Mbps upload). I am also using NordVPN for my private worldwide network security. I have seen no bugs at all with my setup.
