Good camera
I bought a lower resolution version of this camera. Liked it so much I also purchased this 5MP. The lower resolution version had a WiFi hardware issue, which SV3C graciously replaced (thank you Daisy). The replacement is very good too!
In review the 5MP camera is amazing in every way (bar one). These are solid made cameras. I’ve tested the 5MP for some time, both inside and outside (in average to below zero temperatures). The camera hasn’t complained or caused problems at all. Image quality for SD and HD is very good for day and night! (excellent engineering here!).
Using the cellphone app CamHiPro I find I’ve pretty good accuracy at pointing the camera remotely and focusing at a distant location (CamHi did not fare so well). For a security camera that you want to use for surveying a rural property this is certainly a good choice. To pre-check an area for coyote, bear and any other unwanted intruders, this camera is a good choice.
The down side to the camera, there is a speaker and a microphone. However, the camera makes a lot of noise as it sits idly watching a specific location. So, when you turn on the microphone that noise overwhelms the sounds in the immediate area. Supports response was that I should turn down the volume for the microphone. Which only seemed to remove the noise and the surrounding sounds. This is not a real issue if you aim to view distant locations before you wander into the dark corners of a property.
Nice features come with it being an IP camera and obeying several standards. Some impressive software can be used with these types of cameras. All worth trying out.
Would recommend to anyone aiming to use IP cameras.
