Does it work with thick carpets (greater then 1.5 inches )?

Roomba has a built in clearance of 5/8″ to work and transition on many different types of floor surfaces and rugs. If the carpet is deeper than 5/8″ the Robot may not navigate or clean it as well as on a shorter pile surface. It could not be able to maneuver on the surface if it is too deep or thick. 1.5 inches deep would likely be too deep for the Roomba.

Does it come with a dual mode virtual wall barrier?

When purchased from an Authorized Retailer, Roomba s9 will come with the following included:

How does the s9 deal with things like a tissue on the floor, or bit of yarn or ribbon?

Roomba s9 features a very powerful motor for suction. If it were to encounter tissues, yarn or ribbon on the floor it would likely pick it up. The brushes on the Robot are textured rubber rather than bristles to lessen tangles and ease clean up and maintenance. Any debris that is picked up and makes it past the brushes would be deposited in the bin. Yarn or ribbon could conceivably wrap around the brushes.

Does it come with a dual mode visual wall barrier?

Some Roomba models come with a Dual Mode Virtual Wall in the box. The Roomba s9 does not come with a Dual Mode Virtual Wall included in the package. It is compatible with a Dual Mode Virtual Wall, but would be an optional accessory that can be purchased separately. The s9 does have the ability to use Keep Out Zones within the Imprint Smart maps on the app. This allows you to create barriers in the map rather than setting up a physical barrier.
