Pros & Cons – MOOSOO cordless vacuum cleaner 18KPa
Pros
Weight. At 2.5kg it is easy to handle and use. Taking it to a smaller form I can easily run around the upper corners of the room to get any unsightly cobwebs.
Versatility. Being able to squeeze into hard to reach spots is a must and the K-17 does it easily. Being small and with a good range of movement it easily fits under my cabinets and other hard to reach places. Also, the headlights are great for seeing under them as well.
Space-saving. The Vacuum comes with a wall mount to store, but it also breaks down to a really small size if you need to store it away.
Easy to use. It’s really easy to assemble and swap out the accessories. Even the kids have taken to using it as it’s so easy to use. Miracles do happen!
Cleaning. There are quick release switches so you can easily empty or take apart to clean. There are no fiddly parts to deal with.
Negatives
Time of use. The product description says it lasts between 12 to 30 minutes depending on whether you use average or strong suction. Personally, mines lasted 15 minutes on high. So depending on what you want to use it on it may not last.
Recharge time. It takes four and a half hours to fully charge it from zero.
Overall. I like the way it is easy to use and even easier to swap out accessories. I can easily make it a small unit to get into the car to clean it out. It’s lightweight and easy to use. It encouraged the kids to start vacuuming, although I don’t expect that t last! For a quick and easy clean this is a good vacuum. It’s is fairly quiet as well.

MOOSOO cordless vacuum cleaner 18KPa Customer review
This was bought for my mother but I’ve spent a lot of time comparing with my Dyson V8. Bottom line – at well under half the price of a V8, the MooSoo will do all most people need. If, however, you insist on the best, find the money for a Dyson. The Dyson V10 and V11 are in a different league, at 3 or 4 times the price, and it would be inappropriate to compare with them.
The MooSoo seems modelled on Dysons. I’d say the plastics are of a similar, high standard, the engineering and build quality not quite up there but not far off. Any criticism I level at it, though, has to be taken in the context of price. Not that there is much to criticise. Indeed, the MooSoo has several benefits over the Dyson.
For a start, the MooSoo offers adjustable pole length. It also has a headlight, a tool for removing hair from the roller and an easily-swappable battery. Talking of the battery, it’s hard to compare run times because they vary according to which head is attached and the chosen power level. Suffice to say, there isn’t much difference and the MooSoo’s claimed 30 minutes (12 on full power) are plenty for most purposes. Both machines can be recharged in 4-5 hours.
The instructions are largely pictorial but the English, where used, is good. You get three easily-changed tools – the main head, a long nozzle and a dusting brush. The Dyson offers several more but they’re used only occasionally. Weight with tube and main head is the same for both, bar a few grams. The sound they make is different but at about the same level. Both machines are highly manoeuvrable, making it easy to vacuum right under furniture where there’s a minimum clearance of about 10 cms.
The MooSoo’s trigger toggles on/off. The Dyson’t has to be held on, which some users dislike, but the idea is that power is used only when you’re actively vacuuming, maximising run time. We don’t have a preference. If you run the MooSoo on full power and then switch it off, it automatically reverts to low power next time you start it, whereas the Dyson has a separate switch – again, we don’t have a preference.
The biggest difference is perhaps in the method of charging. With the Dyson, you simply hang the machine in the dock (a one-handed task) and it starts charging. With the MooSoo, the battery has to be removed (easy) and charged with a separate power adapter, the benefit being that you can install a spare battery, should you choose to buy one, and carry on vacuuming. The Dyson dock holds several accessories but the MooSoo wall hanger is exactly what it says – there is no storage on it (or on the machine) for accessories. Spare MooSoo batteries aren’t available yet but, judging by the price of others they sell, I’d expect them to be much cheaper than Dyson.
The dust canisters are of similar capacity and are equally easy to empty, but you’re more likely to make a mess with the MooSoo because the lever is at the bottom instead of the top, and it’s a lot harder to clean inside the canister. It’s very easy to remove the MooSoo’s roller from the head for cleaning, and the de-hairing hook is useful. There’s a HEPA filter to rinse periodically and replace every so often – they suggest two weeks and three months respectively, but that obviously depends on usage.
So, what about performance? We have a lot of hard floors as well as carpets. With general dust and dirt on the surface, there’s nothing to choose between the machines. With bigger debris such as rice and cereal flakes, the WooHoo does tend to push things around and we have to go over them several times, use full power or switch to the nozzle. After cleaning similar areas of carpet on full power, the dust canisters had very similar contents, suggesting they perform equally well. The only real weakness of the MooSoo is that it doesn’t perform well along edges – against skirting boards and kitchen plinths, for example. We have to switch to the nozzle. My video demonstrates all this.
The Dyson V8 is the better machine overall, but it’s well over twice the price. If the MooSoo were the same price, I’d rate it three or four stars. As it is, for less than £150, the MooSoo thoroughly deserves five stars for the value it offers.
